The Woman Hobby Farmer – by: Karen Lanier

Women as farmers are gaining ground, so it is refreshing to see a book on the market that reflects that segment. Karen starts by helping you assess your wants and needs (including a little bit of homework!), and carries you through growing food, raising livestock, and building a farm-based business. I also enjoyed reading the women farmer profiles. These helped me to gain some insight and get ideas for the potential for my own farm. This is one of those books you won’t read just once – instead it will be a go-to reference for my own farm.
