When we had Monday Night Bunco, Alona made a jar of these Seasoned Crackers to use as snacks.  It was the first time I had ever tried them, and instantly fell in love!  They are crispy, spicy, and delicious.

Alona’s Seasoned Crackers can be used for more than just a snack.  Add them to a holiday Buffet table, or take them along on any summer picnic.

Having a movie night with your family?  Make some ahead of time and snack on them while watching.  A perfect drink to go with them is a big pitcher of homemade Lemonade in the summer, and a Mug of Hot Chocolate in the winter.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Saltine Crackers (4 sleeves)*
  • 1 teaspoon crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 package Zesty Italian Dressing mix
  • 1 package Ranch Dressing Mix
  • 1 – 1-/2 cups Vegetable Oil

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, whisk together all ingredients EXCEPT the crackers, blending well.

Place the crackers in a 1-gallon jar or TWO- Gallon zip top bag.  Slowly pour the spice and oil mix over the crackers.  Place the lid (or zip the top) securely.

For 10 minutes, either roll the jar on the counter, or gently shake the bag to coat all the crackers.  Allow to sit for approximately 10 more minutes – and then serve or snack away!

Seasoned Crackers Go Good with…

Alona’s Seasoned Crackers pair well with a hearty bowl of Vegetable Beef Soup. They are also an excellent cracker to serve with salads.

Our favorite way to enjoy them is with slices of cheddar cheese, sausage bits with Country Mustard and sliced apples. It’s a perfect dinner for those busy evenings!
