Raising with the Moon – by Jack R. Pyle & Taylor Reese

Do you ever get advice about gardening from one of the ‘Old Folks’, and get an answer such as, “Plant those ‘maters two days before the full moon”? There is a reason for that, and Pyle and Reese do an excellent job of explaining the theory. This book covers not only the moon phases, but also the astrological signs, companion planting, charts, natural pest control and even the best time to cut your hair and do household chores, such as baking and canning. Raising with the Moon is fun to read, but also very informative if you want to produce the best garden possible. Once you have tried it, you will better understand the practical wisdom of the gardeners that came before us.
