We all need reminders every now and then.  On a day-to-day basis, our lives and world are so hectic, we all too often meet ourselves coming and going.  Chalkboard Wisdom is one of the places we start.

Around here, we are list makers.  If we leave to go to Shreveport for the day, The Country Boy first sits at the table with a pencil and paper, then lists everywhere we need to go and what we need when we get there.  I act as the navigator.  I check the list, then determine the order in which we complete the list.

This works all well and good for the literal side of life.  But where do we go when we just need a few words of encouragement, affirmation or guidance?  My cousin, Rose, just helped me solve that dilemma.

Chalkboard Wisdom to the Rescue

Just recently, along with a couple of other wonderful gifts, she made me a chalkboard.  I am going to hang it in a prominent place in my kitchen, so that I can see it several times a day.  On it, I am going to write different quotes, Bible verses or messages that pertain to anything I am going through in my life.

These sayings will keep me reminded of who I am, where I am going, what my goals are, and how to live a quiet but successful life.

I think everyone needs some type of chalkboard.  If you don’t have room for one, then purchase an inexpensive picture frame and add a strip of magnet on the back.  Mount it on your refrigerator.

With colored (or even just plain white) paper, write your quote for the day, week, or month on the paper, then cut it to fit the frame. The chalkboard and frame have the same purpose, and by being frequently reminded of how great life can be, you might just find a little more peace, a little less

Chalkboard Wisdom Isn’t Just About Famous Quotes

Quotes don’t have to come from famous people or movies.  Remember something your grandmother always said, and you feel are words to live by?  Write them down!  Need a laugh?  Make your ‘quote’ a joke.  The one thing this world has plenty of, and that is words.  Use them to lift your life, make you smile, give you food for thought, and lessons to live by.

Easy.  Quick.  No cost.  Does it get better than that?
